CIRCULAR SHEET MUSIC


These partitions symbolically represent places or people.

They are constructed from their identity and intended to be played by the Gamelan NUSA CORDON of the KOTEKAN Company.
Taking up the idea of ethno-musicologist Kati Basset, a specialist in music from Bali and Java, I developed these scores for my own language, integrating spaces of silence (which do not exist in traditional Balinese music) .
The colors used are the symbolic colors associated with each Gamelan sound.
The melodies are built on a close relationship between the original heptatonic mode (Pelog) of this Gamelan and an arithmetic reading of the identity under consideration.
